Serving more than one and a half million passengers annually, Savannah International Airport is a busy air hub and the largest regional airport in coastal Georgia. The airport, located in the eastern corner of Georgia, offers a number of flights across the country including New York and Chicago.

Four ATMs can be found on the second floor and on the ground level while there is also a lost and found facility, a self-service postal centre, Smarte Carte services and self-service hydro massage chairs, among other facilities provided at the airport.

There are plenty of shops located throughout the airport. Those wishing to buy souvenirs can head to the Paradise Gift Shop, which features a wide range of gifts and magazines. There is also a PGA tour shop for golf lovers. Ladies can spend their time in Piera's Salon and get a manicure or pedicure if they are looking for ways to pass the time.

A number of eateries are scattered throughout the airport. Passengers can find a variety of fast food chains including Pizza Hut, Burger King, Mrs Field's Cookies and TCBY Yogurt. A few full-service restaurants can also be found, including the popular Phillip's Famous Seafood.

The Business Centre is located in the centre of the main departures concourse on the upper level. The centre provides good business facilities and a meeting room. Fax and telephone services are available. Wi-Fi internet is available for those with laptops, and can be accessed anywhere in the airport.

Transportation at Savannah International Airport

The cheapest way to get to the city centre is by using Chatham Area Transit (CAT) bus number 2, which leaves the airport regularly in the mornings and the afternoons. The journey takes about 35 minutes.

Another option is to take one of the shuttle buses that travel into the city and other major areas including Beaufort, Hinesville and Statesboro. All shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible, ensuring the utmost comfort for those needing special assistance.

Many hotels in the area provide free shuttle services. To use this service, you need to inform your hotel in advance. Once you are at the airport and not sure whether your hotel offers this service, you can check on a board posted in the arrivals zone, which lists the hotels that provide courtesy pick-up services. Many taxi companies can be found at the airport, and will take you to your destination for a reasonable fare.

Parking at Savannah International Airport

Both short- and long-term parking options are on offer at the airport. The airport parking lot is situated right in front of the terminal. The parking lot has more than 200 spaces for short-term parking and 1,000 spaces for daily and weekly parking.

Short-term parking is charged by the hour. Valet parking is also available for busy passengers.
