Serving central and northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia, Piedmont Triad International Airport enjoys a convenient location near I-40. The airport handles a number of flights to and from 19 cities throughout the United States, such as New York, Miami and Chicago.
The airport has one single, two-leveled terminal building equipped with facilities for passengers. On the upper level are a number of ATMs, a shoe shine booth, games room and a FedEx counter.
A wide range of shops are located in the main atrium on the upper level and on both Departures concourses. There are also many restaurants and cafés where hungry travellers can grab a bite to eat before boarding.
On the lower level are car rental and hotel desks for those who want a last-minute booking. Information desks are also available and can assist with airport, hotel and transportation information.
The airport boasts a conference room on the lower level next to the Baggage Claim area. The conference room features fully-equipped business facilities including an overhead projector, flip charts and telephones. The US Airways Executive Lounge also provides business amenities. The Club Lounge is situated on the second floor of the main concourse.
Transportation at Piedmont Triad International Airport
Travelling from the airport to the city centre is convenient, thanks to a wide range of transport options. A number of shuttle buses leave the airport for downtown Greensboro and nearby hotels. Those travelling in a big group can opt for a shuttle van.
Another good option is to use your hotel courtesy pick-up service. Most hotels provide this service to accommodate guests. Check with your hotel in advance and pre-book a shuttle before you arrive.
Taxis and limousines are also aplenty at the airport. The airport has 10 limousine operators that regularly leave for downtown and neighbouring areas. Taxis can be found outside the Arrivals area.
Parking at Piedmont Triad International Airport
Passengers can rest assured that they will find a space to park their car. About 2,000 parking spaces are provided at the airport in the multi-level parking garage, while the airport also features additional spaces located near the terminal for both short and long-term parking.
Other options include executive parking and valet parking. If valet parking is your choice, you can drop your car at the upper level drop-off point and pick it up at the lower level pick-up point upon your return.
