Originally serving only domestic flights, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, situated three miles from Phoenix, Arizona, now handles both domestic and international flights to European destinations. The airport is a major gateway to renowned tourist spots including the Grand Canyon.
The airport has three terminals (2, 3 and 4). Terminal 3 is dedicated to domestic flights, while international flights are handled by terminals 2 and 4. Shuttle services connect all terminals.
Passengers can find ATMs and currency exchange services scattered around the airport. There are a number of eateries including restaurants, pubs and cafés, while those wishing to kill time can find plenty of shopping opportunities at various gift shops and at the duty-free shopping area in Terminal 4.
Business travellers can take advantage of business centres, which can be found in terminals 2 and 3. Basic facilities such as computer points and photocopying and fax services are available.
The airport prides itself for its facilities for passengers with disabilities. TDD phones are easy to find, while special toilets are located throughout the building.
Transportation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Passengers can enjoy the airport's SuperShuttle that offers airport-to-door services within the Phoenix region. The service is only frequent between 09:00 and 21:00. Those requiring a connection to other cities in Arizona can also pre-book the shuttle in advance.
Limousines and taxis are also available right outside the terminal buildings. Airport limousines can be hired on hourly or daily basis, while taxi fares can be negotiated with the driver.
Driving to the airport is easy. From downtown, take 7th street south, then I-10 east to the airport. If you are travelling from North-Central Phoenix, take AZ-51 south and then take the first exit onto I-10 east. After that, simply follow the signs for the airport.
Parking at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Passengers can choose to use either of the two parking options provided: terminal parking or long-term economy parking. Terminal parking feature short-term parking in garages located within the terminal complex. If you wish to park your car for a long period, economy parking is more suitable. The economy lots are situated within a short walking distance of the airport.
