Serving mostly direct flights to southern cities in the United States, including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Houston and Charlotte, Pensacola Regional Airport is one of the best facilitated airports in the region. The airport handles over one million passengers annually.
Scattered around on the first floor of the airport are ATMs and currency exchange offices, while those wishing to use postal services can find postal facilities on the same floor. There aren't too many shops located at the airport, but there are two news and gift outlets on the second floor in the Departures area. One small outlet can be found at the Meet-and-Greet area near Gate 2.
Pensacola Regional Airport has two restaurants operated by Varona, located on the second floor. Even though the choices in eateries are limited, the food isn't. Passengers can find a wide range of dishes both hot and cold and a variety of snacks and drinks.
Those requiring business facilities can use the conference room on the upper level of the building. Provided in the business centre are telephones and fax services. Wi-Fi internet is also available throughout the building.
Transportation at Pensacola Regional Airport
There are many ways to get from the airport to the city centre. Although there isn't rail access, a number of shuttle buses leave from the airport to hotels and the city centre regularly. Colonial Trailways also operates several buses across the city.
Optionally, you can book a courtesy pick-up through your hotel. These shuttle buses need to be pre-booked to ensure a space and agree on a pick-up time. Some of the hotels that provide pick-up service include Holiday Inn University Mall, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn Airport and Marriott Grand Hotel.
For a more comfortable ride, passengers can also use taxi services operating from the airport by set rates. Yellow Cabs, Blue Angel Taxi and Blue Xpress are some of the reliable operators.
Parking at Pensacola Regional Airport
A number of parking spaces are provided at the airport. There are many options available including short-term, long-term garage as well as surface parking. For those concerned about the safety of their vehicles, the multi-storey car park is the best choice, charged at 30-minute intervals. There is also a drop-off and pick-up area right in front of the terminal for those with a driver.
