Operating both international and domestic flights, Orlando Sanford International Airport handles more than one million passengers each year. The airport has two terminals. Terminal A provides international flights to the United Kingdom, Scotland and Northern Ireland, while Terminal B offers domestic flights only.
Terminal A is equipped with a currency exchange outlet, and ATMs are scattered around both terminals. Those wishing to use postal services can find postal facilities available in both terminals.
There are plenty of eateries to please hungry tourists. Passengers flying international can find a few pubs and many restaurants in the Departures area. Terminal B boasts Blue Sky Express which serves coffee and snacks, while alcoholic drinks are available at Blue Sky Spirits.
The international terminal has more shops to offer, some of which include the American Road Shop, Ron Jon Surf Shop and Reel Stuff. Passengers can also enjoy shopping at duty-free stores in this terminal. Terminal B is not as well equipped as Terminal A when it comes to shopping, but passengers can expect to find magazines and gifts here.
A fully-equipped business centre is located at Marriot Orlando Lake Mary Hotel, about three miles from the airport. Conference rooms and computer access are provided.
Transportation at Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB)
Because of its convenient location only 16 miles from the city centre, travelling to and from the airport is easy. One of the most popular options is to take the bus/shuttle transportation which leaves from the airport for central Orlando regularly.
Another good option if you are travelling in a big group is to hire a taxi van, which can accommodate up to nine passengers. Normal taxis are also available to take you to your destination. Taxis are either metered or priced according to your drop-off point. Those wishing to rent a car from the airport can easily get to the city by following the 417 highway. Travelling to the downtown area only takes about 30 minutes.
Parking at Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB)
There are many parking options provided at the airport. The short-term parking area is located near the domestic terminal. A long-term parking lot is also available, although farther away, and has a connection to Airport boulevard. Those parking at the long-term car park will be serviced by a free shuttle bus that takes passengers to the terminals.
The value car park which is adjacent to Terminal A is also available and is commonly full in the summertime. The rate here is charged by hour. This car park is located within a short walking distance from the entrance of the terminals.
