Facilities at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Famously known as LAX, Los Angeles International Airport is one of the world's busiest airports. With its ideal location only 15 miles southwest of LA, one of the famous destinations in the world, the airport receives a great number of passengers annually, both from domestic and international flights.

There are nine terminals at the airport serving a wide range of airlines. Only terminals 2 and 5 provide for international airlines while Terminal 9, or also known as The Tom Bradley International Terminal, offers long-haul international flights.

Passengers who need money can find ATMs situated everywhere throughout the airport while bureaux de change can be found in the Departures halls in all terminals and in the Arrivals halls of terminal 2, 5, 7 and 9.

Shopping enthusiasts will be happy to know that there's lots of shopping opportunities to be had at the airport. With an array of shops and duty-free shopping available in terminals 2 to 8, you can find something to do while waiting to board.

Food and refreshment options are plentiful at LAX. Several cafés, bars and fast food chains are located througoht the terminals while you can also find full-service restaurants if you want to fill your empty stomach after hardcore shopping.

Wireless internet is available everywhere in the airport while those requiring business facilties find them at the ICE Currency Exchange booth, which provides fax and photocopying services for passengers. Alaska Airlines features one board room in the Terminal 3 while the Hilton Los Angeles Airport nearby has full-on facilities for business flyers.

Transportation at Los Angeles International Airport

As one of the busiest airports in the country, the airport provides a wide range of transport to get you to the city centre. Outbound buses and courtesy shuttles can pick you up at the designated area on the Arrivals level in front of each terminal.

City buses leave from the Baggage Claim area of all terminals to the city centre while taxi ranks are located at the curbside on the Lower Level. It is highly recommended to use airport authorised taxis. Optionally, you can also take a complimentary rail shuttle that will take you to the Aviation Station on the green line of the metro rail network.

Parking at Los Angeles International Airport

Eight central car parks provide about 8,000 parking spaces at Los Angeles International Airport. Many parking options are on offer including short-term and long-term parking. There are also daily rates for parking at the two perimeter car parks: lots B and C.

All car parks have an easy access to the terminals and LAX shuttle buses run between all car parks and the terminals. The first two hours of parking are free of charge.
