Once a major air hub in Houston, Houston William P Hobby Airport is now Boston's secondary airport offering domestic flights only after the opening of George Bush Intercontinental Airport in 1969. The airport is located about eight miles southeast of the business district of Houston, Texas.

The airport serves eight domestic commercial airlines and also handles low-fare carrier operations. It is reported that business flyers on shorter routes to Houston from within the country prefers to land at Houston William P Hobby Airport rather than the bigger George Bush International Airport as it's less crowded and equipped with good facilities.

Wi-Fi wireless internet can be accessed everywhere in the terminal while there are also a currency exchange booth, ATMs and a shoe-shining stand to make sure your shoes are sparkling clean before you board your flight.

Those wishing to use telephones can find the black airport telephones inside the lobby and the white telephones in the Central Concourse area in case you need to use paging assistance.

The airport houses various restaurants and cafés, while you can also find small beverage booths scattered around in the building. Those wishing to do some shopping can spend their time at one of many small gift shops and newsstands are fully stocked with the latest newspapers and magazines.

There's a smoking area about 25 feet away from the terminal building. The airport also features a special bilingual Special Service Representatives (SSRs) at various high traffic locations throughout the terminal for further information about the airport as well as providing medical care.

Transportation at Houston William P Hobby Airport

Buses operated by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County run from the airport to the city. Buses leave from Curb Zone 13, outside the Baggage Claim area on the lower level. You can also opt for one of the shuttle services offered by SuperShuttle which leave from the airport.

The easiest and the most convenient option is perhaps asking for a courtesy pick-up from your hotel. Courtesy telephones are located in the Baggage Claim area so that you can arrange the pick-up with your hotel. Metered taxis are waiting at Curb Zone 3.

Parking at Houston William P Hobby Airport

The airport provides a four-level parking garage with an easy access to the terminal building. Additional parking can be found at the Parking Cents lot, located not far from the terminal.

Optionally, EZ Parking also provides another convenient way to park at the airport which allows passengers to use the Harris County Toll Road Authority's EZ TAG to pay for the parking fees.
