One of the upcoming business and tourism hubs for the southern Atlantic coast of the United States of America, South Carolina's Charleston International Airport serves more than 100 daily flights to many destinations all over the country. The airport has two concourses which are connected by a central atrium. Free wireless internet can be accessed throughout the terminal. There's also an ATM machine and other banking facilities. Those wishing to send a postcard to their loved ones can use postal services available at the Business Centre.
The atrium boasts a central food court, featuring a variety of food. There are two gift shops and a newsstand in the terminal. A nursery is also provided to assist those traveling with small children.
Business flyers won't be disappointed with business facilities the airport has to offer. An excellent Business Centre is equipped with top-class conference rooms and services. Two VIP lounges also have media facilities, located in both concourses.
The food court can be found directly opposite the main entrance, while small bars and restaurants will please hungry tourists with tasty Southern-style cuisine.
Transportation at Charleston International Airport
There are two ways to get from the airport to the city: shuttles and taxis. The Downtown Shuttle provides connections between the airport and downtown Charleston. You can always ask to get off wherever you want on the route and the fare is fixed. For the updated timetable, contact the information desk at the airport.
Optionally, you can also ask for courtesy shuttles from your hotel. Most hotels offer courtesy pick-up and drop-off upon request. Check with your hotel in advance.
Many taxi companies operate taxis from the airport to Charleston and its neighbouring areas. Taxi stands can be found outside the Baggage Claim area.
Parking at Charleston International Airport
There are three main parking areas in the airport. Parking Deck and Surface Lot can both be used for short-term and long-term parking. The Cell Phone Waiting Area is located the farthest from the terminal and is used for those coming to pick the passengers up. Parking Deck and Surface Lot are covered and under 24 hour security.
With a large pick-up and drop-off area, passengers can be ensured that they won't have to beat the traffic inside the airport to get the plane. This area is located right outside the airport. Valet parking is also provided from 05:00 to 01:00 daily.
