Transportation at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
With a convenient location only eight miles southeast of downtown Austin, travelling to the airport is very easy. If you wish to drive, the airport is located on Highway 71, off the north I-35.
Capital Metro Bus operates services between downtown Austin and the airport, while the Airport Flyer leaves the airport every 20 minutes for the city. SuperShuttle provides services from the airport to a variety of drop-off points in Austin and neighbouring areas. These buses can be found waiting outside the Baggage Claim area. Most hotels which are located close the airport offer courtesy shuttles for guests.
For high-profile business flyers and other VIP passengers, limousines are available from the airport. Taxis wait for passengers on the west side of the Baggage Claim area and are operated by Yellow Checker, Austin Cab and Roy's Taxis.
Parking at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
With more than 100,000 parking spaces available in seven parking areas, passengers can rest assured that finding a place to park their vehicle isn't going to be a hassle. Surface lots and a VIP valet service are on offer, while a pick-up area is located outside the concourse level of the terminal building.
All parking lots are monitored by 24-hour CCTV surveillance and Airport Police patrols. Parking fees are to be paid upon exit, and both by cash and credit cards are accepted. The first 30-minutes of parking at the Parking Garage and the Close-in Lot are free. There are shuttle buses provided between the surface lots and the terminal.
